Forgotten Administrator Password

You can reset your password outside the web front end. You will need to be root on the machine where SFLM was originally installed and then run the commands

sflm -stop
sflm -set-password
sflm -start

No registry set.

The SFLM Registry is simply a directory where the SFLM Server configuration files are stored.

The default location for the SFLM registy can be changed by setting the SFLM_REGISTRY environment variable to the directory you wish the configuration files to be placed.

NOTE: This directory MUST reside on a local disk and should NOT contain links to non-local areas. It MUST NOT be changed after activating the server.

Could not register machine online

If your browser is timing out, giving error messages about being unable to contact the host, or otherwise not connecting to the internet; there could be a problem with your browser's proxy settings. Contact your system administrator or Internet Service Provider.

Could not stat ssmid.

An error occurred trying to determine the status of the Ssmid file. The Ssmid file is located in the SFLM registry directory, currently 'C:\Windows\var\opt\sflm'. Please check the permissions of the SFLM Registry directory, and the files within.

An error occurred trying to determine the status of the RID file. The RID file is located in the SFLM registry directory, currently 'C:\Windows\var\opt\sflm'. Please check the permissions of the SFLM Registry directory, and the files within.

RID & Ssmid files are not located on the same device.

The RID & Ssmid files both reside in the SFLM Registry directory, currently 'C:\Windows\var\opt\sflm', and both of MUST be located on the same device ( disk ).

Ssmid is not mounted locally.

The Ssmid file is not located on a locally mounted disk. The Ssmid file resides in the SFLM registry directory, currently 'C:\Windows\var\opt\sflm'. Please check that this directory is located on a local disk.

File corruption

The Ssmid File is corrupt.

Multiple servers detected on same host (trying to resolve).

Multiple servers seem to be running on this hostIf multiple servers were accendially started, may conflicts may occur. The server will try to resolve these conflicts by dying or asking the other server to die. It may take 5 to 10 minutes to resolve problems with shared resources. If this problem persists, stop all servers and restart only one. The easiest way to do this may be to reboot the machine.

Could not unlink the Ssmid backup file 'ssmid.bak'. This file is located in the SFLM Registry directory, currently 'C:\Windows\var\opt\sflm'. Please check the permissions of the SFLM Registry directory, and the files within.
