The SFLM license server needs to gather information describing your license server machine that will identify it uniquely to your vendor. This information must then be sent to your vendor in order for them to generate a license file for their software. Two modes of transmitting this information are available. Only one of these two modes needs to be selected and we strongly recommend the online approach if applicable.

Register SFLM Server Online

If your license server machine is connected to the internet then this is the simplest and most convenient method of registering. "connected to the internet" means that you should be able to open up a web browser (for instance Internet Explorer or Netscape) and be able to browse the internet. This step will transmit the data to your vendor. You will be asked for some contact information and then your license server will be activated for you automatically. If you cannot browse the internet then you should select the Register Offline mode, or see the troubleshooting section about internet connectivity problems.

Register SFLM Server Offline

If your license server machine is NOT connected to the internet then you must use this mode.

"NOT connected to the internet" means that you cannot browse the internet with for example Internet Explorer or Netscape. Registration and Activation will be in a manual mode.
